ABOUT:  I’ve always been a House-Head and used to watch Derrick Carter, Lego, Justin Long, Mark Farina and others mix in Chicago clubs such as Shelter, Red Dog, and Smart Bar.  I finally learned how to work the decks during the winter of 2006/2007 after a chance meeting with Chicago DJ Thelonious Funk turned into an offer of free lessons … …I bluffed my way into my first major club gig that summer.   Former guitarist in various Chicago rock bands (Bodhisattva, Octopussy), former owner of Chicago underground rock label Urban Legends Records (The Wesley Willis Fiasco, Trailer Hitch, etc.), previously a writer for various underground punk/rock/alternative music ‘zines.  Learned how to play guitar after stumbling into a The JESUS LIZARD show at Chicago’s Cabaret Metro and, after picking my jaw up off of the floor, made my way backstage to ask their guitarist Duane Denison if he would teach me how to play.  Thankfully his answer was “Yes”.  ….. That was then, this is now… I’m lucky to have finally immersed myself in my passion.. that thing I’d been looking for the entire time without realizing it was always there, in the background, waiting for me to become one with it…. HOUSE MUSIC.  Now… every time I get behind the decks I feel like I’m making up for lost time…..
